SERMO Accreditation with Distinction for the Department of Foreign Languages!
We are pleased announce that, following the accreditation conducted at our language centre, the AGH University Department of Foreign Languages was accredited with distinction for a period of 4 years, i.e. 2024 – 2028 (Resolution No. 19 of the SERMO Accreditation Commission of June 18, 2024).
The Association of University Language Centres (SERMO) was established in 2006. It is an organisation that brings together academic language centres of universities in Poland whose "priority is to improve the quality of foreign language teaching and implement good practices." It also serves as a forum for information exchange and represents the interests of the aforementioned units domestically and abroad. SERMO represents Polish academic centres as part of CercleS: an international organisation of language centres.
SERMO accreditation is one of the external methods to assess the quality of the educational process. It is voluntary, hence it is requested by the language centres which wish to obtain it.
On 22 June 2022, an agreement was signed between the Accreditation Commission of Universities of Technology (KAUT) and the Association of University Language Centres (SERMO) "on cooperation in the assessment of the language education process of technical fields accredited by KAUT."
